HSDB’s high school is 9th – 12th grade. To graduate from HSDB with a Hawai’i High School Diploma, a student must earn a minimum of 24 credits. Students may complete these 24 credits in 4 years or stay additional years until age 21 to complete the 24 required credits. In Hawai ‘ i, there has been a public school on O ' ahu operated by the department of education (DOE) for the education of Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind students since 1914. The school is currently known as the Hawai ‘ i School for the Deaf and Blind (HSDB).
