On the live front he will premiere his ”Best of Beethoven” collaboration with conductor, composer Jaakko Kuusisto.

Today, virtually every European jazz musician has internalized this approach. And thus the conditions for a new “Europeana” have been fulfilled, as Finnish pianist Iiro Rantala and Norwegian saxophonist Marius Neset lead a prominent jazz ensemble and the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen at the Philharmonie Berlin. Best of Beethoven –kavalkadi soi ensimmäistä kertaa Suomessa Kuopion kaupunginorkesterin verkkokonsertissa Kuopion kaupunginorkesterin Klassikoita kahdella tapaa –verkkokonsertissa torstaina 4.3. klo 19 soi kokoelma Beethovenin hiteistä. Kavalkadin ovat työstäneet konsertin johtava Jaakko Kuusisto ja solistina toimiva pianon moniottelija Iiro Rantala.

Iiro Rantala: Best of Beethoven / Arrangement: Iiro Rantala, Jaakko Kuusisto. The following piece, Best of Beethoven, is a collection of Ludwig van Beethoven’s most famous themes arranged for the piano and the orchestra by Iiro Rantala and Jaakko Kuusisto. The work was created for an event held in December 2019 and hosted by the the Federal President of the Federal Republic of Germany as a part of the official launch of Beethoven’s 250th anniversary year in Germany. Zu Ostern 2021 präsentieren der finnische Jazz-Pianist und sein Lieblingsorchester ein funkensprühendes Programm: Poulenc, Mozart und ein »Best of Beethoven« Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen plays with Iiro Rantala On Easter Sunday (8.15 p.m.), the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen will host the pianist Iiro Rantala. The program includes works by Mozart, Poulenc - and Rantala, who contributes an entertaining potpourri of Beethoven set pieces with “Best of Beethoven” (director: Jaakko Kuusisto).
